Stabiae and Oplonti
A real archaeological walk
A few minutes from Pompeii, moving by car you reach the city of Stabiae (Stabia), the place where the ancient Romans spent their holidays. At present Villa San Marco and Villa Arianna are beautiful testimonies of Roman life. Thanks to this tour, you can also admire the ancient and luxurious villa of Poppea, at the Oplonti excavations. Further, you could visit "La Reggia di Quisisana", a historic residence located in the hilly area of Castellammare di Stabia, in the hamlet of Quisisana, from which it also takes its name. The archaeological park, together with the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii, is part of the UNESCO heritage. This tour is a real archaeological walk.
